Every two years, the FIGURA Theatre Festival brings artists from Germany and abroad to Baden, transforming the city into a centre for contemporary puppet theatre. Whether delicately poetic and playful or socially pointed, the productions on display showcase the entire spectrum of the genre. Puppets, objects, materials, light, sound and language merge into multi-layered productions that touch the audience, stimulate thought or simply enchant.

Performances take place at various locations throughout the city, from classic theatres to unusual venues. The festival is aimed at a broad audience and also offers a varied supporting programme with discussions, exhibitions and encounters with the artists.
